Who Is Eligible for the NDIS?

1. Age Requirement
You must be under 65 years old at the time you apply.

2. Residency Requirement
You must be:
- An Australian citizen, or
- A permanent resident, or
- Hold a Protected Special Category Visa

3. Disability Requirement
You must have a disability that is:
- Permanent (likely to be lifelong)
- Requires ongoing support
- Verified through medical or allied health evidence

4. Early Intervention
If your condition is not permanent but early support could reduce future needs, you may be eligible Early Intervention criteria.

What Evidence Do You Need?
The NDIA requires clear evidence showing:

Evidence can come from:

After You’re Approved
Once you receive an access decision, the NDIA will invite you to a planning meeting. This is where your first NDIS plan is created. You can bring a support person, advocate, or service provider to help you.
Your plan may include funding for:

- Capital supports
- Plan Management
- Support Coordination
- Therapy services
